60,000 vote for preferred colour on IT Park wall

The MP Road Development Corporation (MPRDC) move to conduct an opinion poll to select colour shade of the outer wall of Crystal IT Park has received a good response as over 60,000 people have expressed their opinion on colour and shades by Sunday evening.
Officials believe opinions would touch the one lakh mark. The three-day opinion poll started on January 14 and it will conclude on January 16. The result of the poll will be declared on January 18. However, initial estimates suggest Silver Rough has emerged as a first choice of the people.
Till Sunday evening 23,503 people have voted for Silver Rough followed by Permastone which has got 23,006 votes official sources informed. Almond, Fawn, Desarto have receive minimum votes-only 438 people have expressed their liking for the colour. Apricot Pearl, Pinkvapor, Agra Red has got 2,516 votes and Granito, Naturoplast Dark-light have received 10,597 votes. Some of believes that Silver Rough would be the choice colour of Crystal IT park, as people want soothing colour for the building.
MPRDC has installed stalls at Rajwada and Crystal IT Park where people can vote for the colour of their choice. Along with this people can also vote on the official website of MPRDC. People have been give five colour choices with the photograph of the building in that particular colour.
Recently MPRDC managing director Vivek Agrawal had inspected the progress of the work and he had announced that colour shade of the building will be decided by an opinion poll. Agrawal had instructed the contractor to finish the work by March, so that IT companies can start operating out of the building from April.

Finally, Crystal IT Park finds takers

Unfinished work in 'abandoned'building taken up in earnest; three companies to set shop on 1,40,000 sq ft by May
.. OUR STAFF REPORTER Indore
If all goes well, the Crystal IT Park on Khandwa Road, which was lying in abandoned state for the past eight years, may have three tenants soon. Three small to medium sized IT companies, who approached the government for space to conduct their business, have been allotted space at the IT Park.
According to sources, the Unit Approval Committee for Crystal Park, Indore approved the proposals submitted by the three IT companies in its maiden meeting held on Wednesday. The companies have proposed a cumulative investment of Rs 32.50 crore and export turnover of Rs 543 crore.
The meeting was chaired by AK Rathore, Development Commissioner, SEZ, Indore. The committee comprised of joint director AD Chaturvedi, additional commissioner, Central excise and customs RK Verma, additional commissioner of income tax, Vinay Karna and MD of AKVN Sanjay Dube.
The three companies have been allotted 1,40,000 square feet of space. They would generate employment for 1,200 to 1,500 professionals.
However, the rent to be charged is yet to be announced because it has to be approved by the board of MPRDC. Crystal IT Park, spread over 7.99- hectare land, has two buildings. The one facing the road is massive oval shaped structure and another smaller one behind it has total space of 1,40,000 square feet. The three companies have been allotted space in this smaller building.
Impetus Infotech ( India) Private Limited has been allotted 1,00,000 square feet for establishing its centre for development of computer software along with IT and IT enabled services.
The company would invest Rs 25 crore and has projected export of Rs 423 crore over a period of five years.
Similarly Intellicus Technologies Private Limited has been allotted 30,000 square feet for establishing its centre for development of computer software along with IT and IT enabled services.
The company would invest Rs 2.5 crore and has projected export of Rs 35 crore over five years.
The third company, Cleartrial Technologies Private Limited has been allotted 10,000 square feet. The company would invest Rs 5 crore and has projected export of Rs 85 crore.
The units would be operational within three months from the date of approval and upon executing lease dead for the space. This means they would be operational by May 2012.
Work being finished
Only building structure was completed by the previous contractor while work on wiring and electrical fittings, flooring, plastering and finishing, painting, windows and door fitting, plumbing and finishing toilets and landscaping was yet to be completed.
The corporation contracted the work to Som Constructions at Rs 44.97 crore and work started in earnest. Work has been progressing at high speed and suddenly the park which had no takers earlier, found its first tenants in the wake of IT majors TCS and Infosys consenting to establish their software delivery centres in the city.

Crystal I.T. Park is Operational Now

The SEZ status assigned to the Crystal IT Park had made it mandatory that the companies start exporting their products from here before June 21 failing which the status would have been withdrawn by Central government. To avoid that, Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam (AKVN) Indore allotted space to these companies in a hurry. ” A total of 1.40 lakh sq ft space has been given to three IT companies and for the time being, they have been allotted space on the first floor. They would expand operations as soon as remaining two floors are completed,” AKVN Indore MD Sanjay Dubey told.
Dubey added that these units were expected to be operational by June 10 so that the SEZ status of the park would remain intact.
The development of the park has proved to be a tough task for the state government in the last ten years. Some years back, a private firm Nagarjun Constructions had undertaken the task of developing the IT park and completed work to the tune of Rs 30 crore. But, the company later backed out from the project owing to dispute over payment. From 2006, state industries department made persistent bids to find a private partner but somehow failed in its search.
Mumbai-based Zoom Developers was the one of the prospective partner for the department. It qualified for the bid as co-developer in 2008 but later preferred to move out due to some problems.
The tender for completing the long-pending job of the IT Park building was finally given to a New Delhi-based company Som Project Pvt Ltd last year by MP Road Development Corporation, which was handed the task by AKVN Indore.

Indore Municipal Corporation short of its revenue target

The Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) is short of its revenue collection target by about Rs 65 crore. The corporation collected Rs two crore from defaulters on Tuesday making the total collection to Rs 185 crore.
Mayor Krishna Murari Moghe who has been pushing civic official to meet the revenue target said with four days to go for the end of the current financial year we are expecting to meet our revenue target as most people pay at the last moment.
The year IMC had collected nearly Rs 150 crore.
Beside last moment rush of tax payers, civic body is also banking on receiving a significant amount from its big defaulters like Indore Development Authorutiy (IDA), Crystal IT Park and Basketball Club which in total owns around Rs 57 crore of property tax.
The civic body's record suggest that the IDA has to pay nearly Rs 50 crore of propeorty tax while Crystal IT Park has pending dues of Rs 4.2 crore and Basketball Clubs has a pending dues to the tune of Rs 2.8 crore. IMC official said that they are in talk with these agencies and Basketball Club has agreed to settle their dues while talks are on with AKVN for Crystal IT Park and IDA. If these agencies even make partial payment of their dues then IMC will be position to achieve its revenue target.
Meanwhile, IMC official said that ambiguity over the Shelter Fund has also affected their collection. Colony Cell of IMC ear significant amount of money from real estate developers by approving new colonies, but due to lack clarity over Shelter Fund only a handful of colonies had came for approval. Last year Colony Cell has earned around Rs 17 crore while this years collection has come down to Rs 7 crore.
